Thank you for posting your comments to my articles. Now that I am retired, I don’t post articles every day, since I have another life besides this blog. OMG did I just say that?

I read all of the comments you leave. I don’t approve them all, since a lot of them are SPAM, but I do read them all.

Please post comments as you see fit. If it is of personal nature, I will read it but will most likely not post it, since it is personal from you to me.

I get asked a few more times than I like;

I am married and love my wife. We have three beautiful children – two boys and a girl. The boys are out on their own and our little girl (20 yrs old) is still in college. She’s a junior next school year. Her college fund will allow her to get a Master’s if she wants to go for it in 5 years.

Our boys both did this and she is considering it, since the amount of $$ they make with a Master’s is considerably more than with just a Bachelor of Science degree.

My fault was that I told them all to get a degree in Business Administration, since that is what their mother and I have. It kills me when parents allow their kids to get an Art History degree or a Religious Studies degree and the kids can’t find a job. Big DUH!!

One of the benefits of being retired is that I talk to my children a lot more now than I used to when I was working 9 to 5. O.K. It was more like 7 to 6, but it was what it was.

I talk to my little girl all the time, since she is still living at home, and we go out and get an ice cream if she promises not to tell her mother.

We go and get the ice cream and I listen to what she has to say. I don’t talk much. I just listen. I guess as a parent it is interesting that she is a person with thoughts, feelings, desires, interests, and goals that are totally different from my own.

She’s blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh, and we are alike but different. You’d have to be a parent to understand. I look at her and think she looks so much like her mother. And everyone tells her that she looks like her father. I don’t see me in her, but that’s the way it is.

Last week she told me that the money she gets from her part time job at the soft serve ice cream place in town is going to be put into a Roth IRA for retirement.

O.K. So maybe she is like me after all.

For Taking Early Retirement (TER), I hope you are enjoying a great retirement or are close to that day!
